The Yachting Australia Sport Services department is responsible for managing the activities that underpin the day to day operations of the sport of Sailing. Central to this role is maintaining the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and Special Regulations (SRs) and publishing the Yachting Australia Blue Book for use by all participants.
To aid competition and participation in Australia, the Sport Services team is also responsible for managing and developing the National Officiating Program (NOP), the system used to educate and accredit all Race Officers, Judges, Measurers and Umpires involved in Sailing. Detailed information on the NOP can be found within this section of the website or by contacting your State Association.
Sport Services also acts as the local Rating Authority for international rating systems IRC and ORCi and is responsible for issuing certificates to all Australian keelboat owners. Certification for selected International Classes is also carried out by Yachting Australia. For a list of classes managed by Yachting Australia, refer to the Ratings and Certificates page below.
